An audiobook publishing company Out Loud Audiobooks is the umbrella for Knitting Out Loud and Cooking Out Loud. In 2007, Kathy Goldner founded Knitting Out Loud in order to record the best of knitting, yarn and fiber literature. Cooking Out Loud was added to the Knitting Out Loud line in 2010 and the company became Out Loud Audiobooks.
Kathy Goldner was taught to knit by her German grandmother, a World War II refugee and a psychoanalyst who knit while listening to her patients. Returning to knitting many years later, Kathy plunged into the delightful literature of knitting and realized that the agonizing conflict between reading about knitting and knitting could be solved by producing audiobooks of the best knitting titles available. Thereby allowing one to listen while you knit, drive, cook, etc..
Ms. Goldner is also the founder and director of the Literature Enrichment Programs for elementary students in mid-coast Maine. She has been bringing the rich world of Greek mythology, Medieval literature, Shakespeare and Nineteenth century American literature to students for over ten years. Ms. Goldner loves to knit, cook and garden. She loves the inspiring stories that have shaped the history of these pursuits.
